About ELDC

The EARLY LEARNING and DEVELOPMENT CENTER is a private, not-for-profit preschool and child care center, established in 1981 to provide high quality care and education for young children in a warm and nurturing environment. We are not affiliated with any religious or other organization.

Our mission at ELDC to serve children and families by providing an inclusive, high quality early childhood education program; one that supports the social, emotional, and developmental growth of each individual child. Our goal is to be a leader in high quality child care in the greater Seattle area.

We have two centers in the Seattle area located in the Broadview and Greenwood neighborhoods.

ELDC Exists for the Following Purposes

  • To share with families the resposibility for promoting sound learning and development in a period when growth is rapid and significant.

  • To encourage each child's self-esteem, curiosity, spontaneous energy, and inventiveness from which a lifestyle of positive learning habits can develop.

  • To provide a developmentally appropriate based program which will meet the child's emotional, intellectual, and health needs, as well as providing for thier physical care.

  • To recognize the individuality of each child and to foster the child's growth to their full potential understanding that they are also part of the larger community.

History of ELDC

In August of 1981, The Early Learning and Development Center in Greenwood was opened.  As a result of the success of the center along with a growing demand for quality childcare and education in Seattle, ELDC Broadview was opened in 1995.

Since then parents have enjoyed ELDC's exceptional programs which provide a safe and nuturing environment while promoting the development of their children.
